Police in Zhejiang received reports early on Sunday morning that something very fishy had taken plaice on Hangjin motorway - a lorry had overturned, emptying its entire contents onto the highway. In what turned out to be a clean-up operation of some scale, authorities were assisted by locals who were more than happy to bag their portion of the driver's slippery load - 19 tons of live Crucian Carp.
Even funnier, perhaps, than the thousands of flopping fish is the embarrassment of the fish-snatching villagers. Someone should have told the opportunarists: "With so much carp around, there's no need to be Koi!"
